Epic Games Unreal Fellowship for Virtual Production
I was selected to participate in an extremely competitive five-week professional training directly from Epic Games in Unreal Engine with a focus in virtual production. I was the first person to be selected in Japan and one of the first 300 fellows in the world.
ICVFX Hardware Research Project
In 2021 I was consultant in an industry-leading, in-depth study of ICVFX hardware, performance under film and television production standards, and root cause analysis of visual aberrations on behalf of Sony, Netflix, Epic Games, NEP, and Deloitte Japan. I led the selection and planning of 6 manufacturers of LED panels, 2 LED processors, 3 cinema cameras, 3 lenses, and 3 virtual environments. I managed the pre-production and production of 750 shots over a 2 month period with rigorous documentation of key variables per shot (i.e. distance, angle, shutter speed, nits, scene and camera movement) and observation for artifacting.
